Referring to my earlier coverage about the Iranian struggle for democracy, I attended the rally today for coverage.
Considering the freezing temperature, the turn out was great. The rally started around 1:30 p.m EST, in front of the United Nation Information Center Building in K &17 Street. The crowd started their walk toward the White House 30 minutes later. The rally was escorted by two DC Police cars and ended around 4:00 p.m.
Those of you not familiar with the situation, the Iranian struggle for democracy has taken unprecedented turns since June 12th presidential election. Iranians have shown resilience and have pressed on their democratic demands on the face of continuous violence and escalating repression.
Here are two great videos summarizing their struggle against the Iranian regime – beautiful people ![]()
