The Arlington Rap

A DC Tale From an Awesome Washingtonian – Rebecca Morrison

When I moved to the Washington DC metropolitan area over 15 years ago, I never thought I would like living anywhere but in the center of Washington DC itself. For me, moving outside of the Washington DC border meant the end of all things fun and interesting. But boy was I wrong.

Today, I live in Arlington, Virginia and couldn’t be happier! Arlington is directly across from the Potomac River southwest of Washington DC and just a few minutes drive from anywhere in DC. It has some of the best restaurants in the DC area including Ray’s The Steaks, Tallula, Willow, Liberty Tavern, Eventide and Minh’s just to name a few. And there are also fun places to listen to music like the IOTA Club, which has great bands and singers come through regularly, and the Clarendon Ballroom, where you can dance the night away.

Arlington has also developed quite a reputation for being a family friendly community with tons of parks and recreational activities for kids. And in the summer, we have festivals galore!

And finally, we Arlingtonians are known for having a pretty good sense of humor:

You have a DC Tale, feel free to send it to us. We will be glad to post it on Awesome DC site and share it with the world.
