Assuming, Tech Cocktail invites enough chicks this time, the photo shown here becomes reality. Otherwise, don’t get excited.
Tech Cocktail is kicking off their first event of 2010 this coming Thursday in Adams Morgan.
Those of you not familiar with them, they are a community building startup founded by Frank Gruber and Eric Olson that offers events and community-powered projects open to bloggers, technology enthusiasts, entrepreneurs & professionals interested in technology in under served technology communities.
I wish they could get more local investors attending their events – investors with the intention of really meeting up with our startups and not just for mingling.
When: Thursday, Feburary 4, 2010 – 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. EST
Where: LeftBank DC
2424 18th Street NW,
Washington, D.C. map
Price: $10 (You must be 21+ to attend) RSVP here
Here is a clip from their last event on December 3 2009 at the LeftBank DC in Adams Morgan. The event was sponsored by many local startups including GeniusRocket, and Cyncz I previously covered.
As for LeftBank DC , having what many have described as the “United Nations” of friends, I love LeftBank DC . This is a place where you can choose to sit down and relax, listening to the club music or get up and dance your ass off in the front. Get to this place in the summer and they’ll have the front windows wide open. You will enjoy the breeze coming through the open French doors, which look out to the streets of Adams Morgan.
Awesome place for an enjoyable brunch! Make sure to try their banana waffles and French Toast. It’s unheard of how good it is.. It’s no all-you-can-eat-for less than $10. I always walk by there, instantly categorizing it for an evening schmooze session. Very nice ambience if you like minimalist. Chairs are comfy and everything’s spaced out enough so that you aren’t accidentally intruding on someone else’ conversation.
As for the evening, LeftBank DC is more like a bar/lounge than an actual bar during drinking-hours, which means you can dig it. They also have a Belgian type of beer called the trappistes rochefort, very exotic tasting and a bit pricey, but if you’re hung over from drinking too much miller Lite and you want to try something a bit different, I would say go for the Trappistes. They also have DJ on Fridays.
The menu is decent, but the portions are a tad on the small side. The food is very tasty. Don’t forget to try their awesome white pizza and “bison” burger are excellent.
Service is ok. I leave it up to you to judge. I have received mixed review.
