Stewart Vs Fox Over Final Push For Healthcare Reform

The best of Jon Stewart for this week was his Thursday night program when he took on Fox News‘ reporting on the March 9 health care reform protests outside the Ritz Carlton in Washington, D.C. He calls out a Fox News host’s commentary and stops to think: “Fox News might be the meanest sorority in the world.”
Stewart pointed out that Fox News depicted the peaceful protests as a Tehran-esque mob, getting ready to storm the gates of the Ritz Carlton to get their point across. But upon further inspection of the blurry footage, he found members of this group included a women in a wheelchair.
I personally think Fox has been on the path of destroying the news in America and it will be our downfall . News organizations used to be proud to tell the truth . Fox isn’t News and I can’t understand how they get away with their lies and misinformation. They feel no obligation to tell the truth at all . Unfortunately, they have fooled Americans into believing their tripe. The other news groups need to start reporting on Fox making up the news that they then report on , such as the tea party groups that Fox supports. I have never witnessed a news organization fully support one party over the other the way Fox does. What has happened to the WHO , WHAT , WHEN , WHERE ,and WHY type of reporting that people like Walter Cronkite did ?
If I were Jon Stewart, I’d just hire Mélissa Theuriau, the French anchor babe to deal with anything Fox related ![]()

This guy is just an entertainer trying to make a living by being funny. He isn’t beholden to an honest evaluation of Fox or anything else though he does have his own leftist agenda. The funny thing is that you don’t see the bias in the mainstream media. That’s probably because you agree with them. Clearly you have your own bias
Rich, I am a naturalized US citizen. As an Iranian/American citizen, having lived and worked in DC since 1985 as an engineer, then entrepreneur, and then executive in internet, telecom, and social media space, I believe people like Jon Stewart and Bill Maher are way more than entertainer. Here is my rational in one of my previous articles: http://awesomedc.com/2010/01/13/time-for-washington-to-use-comedy-in-our-foreign-diplomacy-arsenal/
Thanks
Elias is one of the most patriotic and all American people I know!
Stick to the fun, smart, cultured, technology stuff. Your posting of this reduces your credibility.
Will do my best to keep the postings to only fun, technology and cultural issues of DC. thx
That’s all well and good, but to suggest that Fox is somehow “dangerous” is a bit over the top. They are media like any other and will at times sensationalize things, but no more than what is done on the other stations. Lets at least be even handed in out observations. If we are going to pick on inaccuracies lets point them out everywhere, not just on the channel that we don’t agree with. Truth is important regardless of the source.
