Once again, Jon Stewart showed why he is the smartest man in the media.

The best of The Daily show this week was the one on Wednesday night in response to the Gizmodo exclusive on the lost iPhone and the ensuing raid on its editor’s home.

Jon addressed Steve Jobs on camera specifically, Stewart feared that the mad genius would “go all Howard Hughes” on us. And of course, no bit on Apple would be complete without an inspired rant against AT&T, who makes their “amazing phone unusable as a phone.” see more…

It’s Friday!!! The weather is FANTASTICO!!!  If you are a Washingtonian, I am sure you know what that means :-) DC will be on fire this weekend!

The discount deal space getting more crowded. I just found out about a new site recently launched in our Washington, DC called Deals for Deeds.

Deals for Deeds has already been generating buzz for their unique way of connecting consumers, businesses, and non-profits via their daily discount deals. The site offers great deals on the best things to eat, see, buy, and do around Washington, DC, and a portion of the proceeds are donated to local community-based non-profits. LivingSocial Lands more Cool Mils

Our beloved Washington based LivingSocial is raising money faster than I have been blogging. It was just last month I covered them when they had just raised $25 million. The company raised another $14 million in their third round yesterday, led by Lightspeed Venture Partners.

U.S. Venture Partners, Grotech Ventures. and Steve Case Revolution also participated in the round, which boosts the company’s backing to $39 million. Read more…

Healthcare Reform to Drive Government IT spending

A positive and promising report by Reston-based INPUT was released yesterday that indicates a boost in IT spending and consequently the employment.

The report says the recently passed healthcare reform bill will force federal, state and local governments to invest more than $5 billion in information technology over the next five years to meet new requirements. read more…

HP Vs Vagina over Palm – HP Wins

I guess Vagina is not as powerful as I thought it would be.

Referring to one of my latest post about the Vagina effect on Palm, HP just announced that it would acquire smartphone maker Palm, in a deal valued at $1.2 billion.

Under the terms, HP will pay about $5.70 per share for Palm, whose stock price closed at $4.64 on Tuesday. read more…

Celebrating Haiti in Station 9

Next month, Station 9 will open it’s doors to anyone with a love of music, dancing, and drinking for one of the biggest parties in Washington DC this Spring.

Shit! D.C. Region in Top 20 for High Ozone

The American Lung Association ranks the Baltimore-Washington, D.C., region area among the 20 U.S. cities most polluted by ozone.

The Baltimore-D.C.-Northern Virginia region is No. 16 on the organization’s annual list of metro areas with the worst smog. That’s an improvement on last year’s No. 14 ranking on the American Lung Association’s “State of the Air” report. read more…

Washington DC Area Free Skin Cancer Screenings

Aveeno and Rite Aid have teamed up for the third annual Road to Healthy Skin Tour providing free full-body skin cancer screenings to the public in Washington DC. Additionally, Aveeno will be offering free sunscreen samples.

Given EPA has labeled the DC area high classification,  you do not want to miss this. The free skin cancer screenings began yesterday and continue till tomorrow. read more…

Social TV on the Rise

Not surprising, but an interesting study of television, radio and online media by RTDNA and Hofstra University reveals use of social media in TV newsrooms is on the rise.

77% of TV newsrooms now use twitter, with 36% of newsrooms claiming they use the microblogging service “constantly.” Another 35% say they use it daily, 16% use it periodically and 13% claim not to use it at all. However, only 20% have a facebook Page. read more…
