Here is a hilarious app on Facebook called AreYouInterested. It is a dating app that conducted a survey on 1,000 Facebook users. Apparently, a lot of us are using Facebook for not only dating, but also surreptitious splits and manipulative messaging.
- Almost 25% of respondents found out their own relationship was over by seeing it on Facebook first. That is one out of 4 users
- Around 21% of respondents said they would carry out a Facebook breakup by changing their status to single.
- Nearly 40% of respondents have updated their status on Facebook so the person they’re dating sees they have plans.
- And almost 35% of respondents have used their Facebook status to make someone think they have plans, even if they don’t.
The vast majority of respondents to this survey were guys; just 30% of survey takers were women.
Although it sounds pathetic to break up using a social media, come to think of it, we used to do the same thing using different technology. It was called letter. Before the internet, didn’t we hand write our love notes and breakup letters? Same difference, just keeping up with current technology. Look at Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy, announcing their breakup on Twitter. Didn’t they?
Anyway, if you currently have a problem with your girlfriend, boyfriend, husband, wife, and even your gay partner or thinking of breaking up, before you do, I encourage you to take a look at CouplesSpark first. It is a free online site that helps you to reconnect with her or him using the power of social media.

sad, but pretty good idea
