Thanks to Nigel Lythgoe of so you think you can dance and a Washington, D.C., congresswoman, this Saturday will be the first National Dance Day – complete with an official act of Congress!
The day aims to promote a healthy lifestyle and strong self-esteem by celebrating dance — but it’s really just about encouraging everyone to get up and get down with their bad selves.
There will be a possible performances by Beat Ya Feet Kings, Fluria Flamenco, Step Afrika, Washington Ballet, and more!
When:Sat 7/31 (1PM)
Where: National Mall
Between the U.S. Capitol and the Lincoln Memorial Washington, DC map
METRO: Smithsonian (Blue and Orange lines)
Cost: FREE!

What a great idea. We need more support for the performing arts to make performances accessible to more people.
