BlackBerry Wants You!

Better organization of pictures

From Blackberry blog post, it looks like the company is coming after us, the consumer market with their new multimedia features.  They are  going to change with BlackBerry 6 that includes:

-         A new improved camera UI,

-         Better picture handling and organization,

-         Improved YouTube integration which allows for streaming, sharing and uploading of videos,

-         Built in Podcast app,

-         And, better ways to handle and organize your music and videos.

Media capabilities always felt like a back burner issue on BlackBerry and it’s nice to see that Research In Motion has brought it forward with BlackBerry 6. Read more of this post

Bump or Mingle360? which one will connect us at a Networking event?

Given the large number of networking and social events around Washington, D.C. on a daily basis, you may want to try out a new cool and free iPhone app called Bump.  I think the app is going to compete head to head with one of our beloved Virginia based company,  mingle360.

The app is supposed to make it easy to exchange information with others during an event or a party by bumping your iphones. The company just released their  Bump 2.0 which is also for iPhone.

mingle360 does the same thing, but not via iPhone. They achieve the same purpose via their own proprietary tiny device called MingleStick You can then plug the MingleStick into the USB port of your Internet connected computer to automatically uploaded the contact information. To Live Better and Longer, try to be more Sociable

A recent research by journal PLoS Medicine shows people with adequate social relationships have a 50 percent greater likelihood of survival than people who have poor or insufficient relationships. That means that having good relationships is comparable to quitting smoking in terms of survival benefit, and is a stronger factor than obesity and physical activity.

And, NO! it does NOT mean having a social life on Facebook. I think it means  get off Facebook, go partying and clubbing over the weekend or whenever you can.  Well! I’ve been doing that since I finished school :-) Read more of this post
