Types of People received Funding this year

CB Insights, a corporate information and research firm, released a report this week listing the types of founders who have received funding this year so far – in terms of their age, race, gender and education.

The firm tracked 165 internet companies receiving Seed or Series A funding from VCs from Jan to June 2010. CB Insights will expand the data set with more time series data in the coming quarters, but for now, this group of 165 companies and their 300+ founders is representative of founder demographics of VC backed companies.
