Strayer University IT/ Entrepreneurs Club Seminar on Entrepreneurship

Strayer University has organized a seminar to discuss how students prepare for the corporate world. Everyone is invited.
Mission: The mission of SUITE Club (Strayer University IT/ Entrepreneurs Club) is to play a central role in promoting IT and entrepreneurship education to both undergraduate and graduate students. In part the mission of SUITE club is to establish itself as an organization pivotal to the success of students concentrating in Consulting, Operation Management and Information Systems at the Strayer University.
Panelists:
Mr. Elias Shams – Founder of Awesome DC. He has been a serial entrepreneur in telecom and social media space for past 10 years or so. His achievements include i) The successful execution of one of the highly complex projects at Pentagon supporting US servicemen in Bosnia via UAV drone while with Yurie Systems, the telecom company that was acquired by Lucent for over $1.23 B back in 1998, ii) Founded one of the top five telecommunications B2B, and the first social networking site on the internet, Telezoo.com back in 1999, and iii) Launch of the first social search engine, Searchles in 2006. He hold a M.S. degree in Telecommunication Engineering from the George Washington University and a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland.
Dr. Danney Barnes – Founder of Absolute Veritable Solutions (AVS), LLC is a Service disable, Veteran –Owned, Minority –Owned, small Business established in 2004, which provides solutions and services by providing career professional. These professionals are enabled and empowered to fulfill technically superior, innovative, and cost effective solutions. AVS applies sound analytical methodologies that target a customer’s specific needs.
Dr. Jerald Feinstein – Member of advising Board of start up companies, visiting fellow at Harvard University. He holds Ph.D degree from the George Washington University in information system and organizational behavior, MS in Electrical Engineering and BS in Physics from University of Oklahoma. Currently he serves as Dean for Rockville campus of Strayer University.
Dr. Mort Anvari – Directs and manage the development of the Army Cost Program (ACP) for selected Army major programs. Administer the Cost Review Board process. Conduct cost risk analyses for selected Army major programs. Develop Army cost risk policy and provide policy guidance and review of the Army’s cost risk program. He holds PhD, in Public Administration, Army Management Staff College, Syracuse University Master of Science Engineering in Industrial and Systems Engineering, Master of Science Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from An arbor Michigan and Leadership Development Program, Center for Creative Leadership

Organization Goals and Objectives:
The purpose of the SUITE club of Arlington Campus is to foster the professional and career development of students in the Strayer University’s undergraduate and graduate programs, and graduates of theses programs.
The SUITE club will sponsor activities and services that promote the education and development of its members and also will provide certain services to its members. SUITE club provides a knowledge sharing platform for many, both inside and outside the University, to study entrepreneurship from a local to a global perspective. SUITE club offers excellent opportunities to support the research, in which knowledge and methods of different fields can be merged, where due diligence coupled with creativity and innovation scholarship may reach fruition not otherwise possible.
Examples of activities and events that will be held students and graduates include:
- Presentations and lectures by outside speakers who are expert in their field
- Presentations and lecture by the University academic staff.
- Social activities to foster relationships among students and graduates and faculty.
- Activities to promote networking among students and graduate and employers.
- Workshop, monthly meeting and other club activities offered by its faculty, teaching fellows and partners,
Examples of services that will be provided for students and graduates include:
- Announcements about IT and Entrepreneurs activities and events in the Washington DC, metropolitan area, that foster professional development
- Announcements about job openings and job fairs
- Advising and counseling services on career planning, writing resumes and applications interviewing, and job hunting.
Policies and Procedures: SUITE club will abide by Strayer University policies and procedures
