What I love about DC: I am so fortunate to have had the opportunity in experiencing DC for the past year or so. You get a fabulous concoction of warmth and elegance everytime you walk amongst the crowd. NY is more trendy, but DC has a more classic appeal…which is definitely more to my liking.  It will greatly be missed when I depart in December

About me: Afghan-American, born and bred New Yorker. I come from a ridiculously large family, (it truly is like my Big Fat ‘Afghan’ Wedding) so moving to Maryland last year was quite an adjustment.

My first time away from home: No longer would I be seeing my parents and fifty cousins on a regular basis. Not to mention, I was so accustomed to the fast paced lifestyle of NY, that waking up to cows, bunny rabbits, and neighbor’s actually saying hello to you was completely foreign to me.

I am currently in the midst of receiving my M.A. in counseling, and will be finishing up at the end of this year. I enjoy: baseball –NY Mets ( I know they’re dreadful), cooking- savory as opposed to sweet,  pistachio ice cream, and expensive designer shoes (4 inches + please) .
