What I love about DC the most: Seven years ago I came to the DC area for my teaching profession.  I had previously lived in Western and Central Pennsylvania and my husband and I decided that Virginia was a great place to be.  Living in Northern Loudoun, jusdt outside of DC I find that there are so many things to do – You can go to a different museum every weekend, there are plenty of child friendly activities for my three children (ranging in age from 7-11) and the people are wonderful!  I will never forget when we moved into our neighborhood in Leesburg…  The next door neighbor came over while we were unpacking to say hello and to see if there was anything that we needed.  In the 6 years that I had lived in Central Pennsylvania, I didn’t even know my neighbors first and last name because they wouldn’t speak to you at the mailbox, things changed moving here!

Those who know me would say that I am an outgoing and friendly person that loves to get together with friends and family, and just have a good laugh.  With all the options in the greater DC area, you can’t beat the selection.  I have so many things on my list of things to do and see in DC that I don’t know if I will ever be able to cross them all off.

About me: I am a full time school teacher for the Loudoun schools and teach Family and Consumer Sciences (what used to be referred to as “Home Ec”)  I have been married for 12 years to a wonderfully supportive husband and we have three terrific children who keep us on our toes.  I love to travel, with cruises being my choice of vacation travel.  I own my own business with Gold Canyon Candles and have worked with them for over 5 years now.  I work on select evenings and weekend doing home parties and fundraisers for groups that need to raise money for their organizations.  Along with our business, I am a strong supported of our Prayer Child Program and was awarded the Prayer Child Award at our annual convention for providing over a dozen families with financial help for their medical bills and therapy expenses that they could not afford.  The Prayer Child Program is near and dear to my heart and I want to be able to share it with everyone that I meet!  I look forward to growing my business and making it a full time job.

    My thoughts on Jen Allen are this. If there is someone one in need, a cause she can believe in and support, she is going to be there giving 150%, she succeeds at what she sets out to do.
