It’s no brainer social media is here to stay for good. Literally, over 90% of the businesses know that so as their PR agencies. Given a large number of them in the Washington, DC area including the top three – Qorvis, Ogilvy, and ketchum who are aggressively looking to hire social media people from sales to service, here are a few tips that will help you avoid shooting yourself in the foot during the interview:
- First thing first – Make sure you know enough about the company and their clients.
- Second – Make sure there is no spelling and grammar errors in your resume. There is always one. You are applying for a social media job. The employers are very picky on that compare to other type of jobs. You will be representing them on all the social media channels with your writing.
- That being said, make sure you have a social media presence at least on these social media sites: Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google+, and the portal to all these channels, awesomize.me.
- Keep all your channels clean. They’ll read your Twitter account, your LinkedIn page, They will certainly check your rating on awesomize.me. So, make sure you got your trusted peers to awesomize you on both professional and social level on that site. Read more of this post
