Tired of Google Adsense? Try WordPress WordAds

If you have publicly visible blog with a custom domain name on wordpress.com, you can now make money from online advertising on your blog. The service powered by Federated Media  called WordAds and you can apply for it here.

Before you get too excited, not every wordpress.com blog will be eligible for the program. The selection will be based on your traffic, your user engagement, the nature of your content, and the language.

Although, I think this is a great move by WordPress, but most of their big blogs are already part of other niche Ad networks. How do they plan to get them, it will be exciting to see their execution. That said,  I would say  only small mom & pop blogs will apply for now including us.  Read more of this post

Why Your Business Can’t Afford Ignoring Google+ and awesomize.me

I have been on Google+ since their launch earlier this year. Although, I love it more than facebook, but I rarely see any of my facebook friends using it. I would say out of 460 of my facebook friends, only five of them including myself using Google+.

Well, their recent TV commercial during Lions vs. Packers football game on Thanksgiving day poised to attract my remaining 455 friends so as other remaining 750 m people  on facebook. Read more of this post

awesomize.me: Slowly, But Surely Getting More Validations

If you wonder who else besides Steve Jobs can predict the technology trends real well, it’s Craig Newmark, the founder of Craig’s List and now the founder of craigconnects.

I met Craig last year during the FedTalks 2010 event in downtown DC around  the time I was thinking of  building my next gig, awesomize.me.  I managed to take 10 minutes of his time during the break to yap about  startup and the business model for the company. One minute after my yapping, like a good doctor, he gave me the good news and the bad news.

The bad news was that my idea of creating a directory of influential people was not quite original. He told me that there were other sites like Klout that have been working on a similar concept, but that they were all doing it using analytical methods. Then he gave me the good news. The Ass Size: Washington,DC, Virginia, and Maryland VS. Alicante, Paris, and London

Literally, every chair in the cafes across the EU has a nice comfortable thin cushion to sit on. At least those in London,Paris, and Alicante where I regularly travel to.

I rarely see cushion on any chairs in our cafes in the Washington, DC area. They all come with flat hard wood or metal chairs. I have always been wondering about it till now as I’m watching everyone’s ASS in Starbucks, Dupont Circle waiting for my meeting: Read more of this post

Simplemente DELICIOSO! Made in Alicante, Spain

I learned this new snack in Alicante, Spain. I encourage everyone to try it out at home. It’s pretty easy, and healthy.

Organic smoked salmon with Organic Italian Feta and and fresh mint with little bit of lemon on top! All on a slice of sunflowered whole grain organic bread. I don’t think such a snack is part of the typical Spanish cuisine, but I noticed many of my friends there making it at their home. The mix of lemon, bread, feta, and mint part of it is certainly from Shiraz, Iran where I am originally from. It can also be Greek. So, where ever it is originally from, it’s just FANTASTICO!  Read more of this post

Cancer: One Of The Best Thing Ever Happened To Me

What you are about to read is all the advice I’ve been ignoring from the loved ones around me for the past 15 years. Wearing my engineering hat, I’ve added some additional information that I have recently learned. I did my best to make the connection between stress, diet, attitude, the cells in our body, yoga, meditation, and cancer. The article is based on my own battle with cancer, feedback from several oncologists, hematologists, and nutritionists from various countries and meeting other cancer patients ranging in age from 16 to 60. YES! 16 years old girl! Cancer these days has nothing to do with age. So, I hope you are not a moron like me and that at least a some of you will listen to the tips here and change your diet.

As a serial entrepreneur who recently beat cancer and been following the story of some other entrepreneurs including Steve Jobs who unfortunately lost his life to cancer,  Amit Gupta who is currently battling Leukemia, and a few other close and young friends who also lost their life to various type of cancers including a very dear friend just last week,   I found it necessary to blog about my case. I hope the story of my life saves the lives of others and that it is a wakeup call for all of you. Read more of this post

I just took this video in Paddington station in London on my way back from Paris today. As an Iranian/American Citizen myself, I love all my fellow Americans back home – particularly those in Awesome Washington, DC where I currently work and live, but I just had to make this comment in the video. It’s for your own good :) Having lived and worked in various countries including Iran, Germany, Spain, France, England, Qatar, India, and our good old US of A, trust me on this! it’s not my ass talking.  Read more of this post
