One Crazy Persian Night @ Lima Lounge DC

After a full week of non-stop testing and bug fixing of the new awesomize.me from 6 a.m till 2 a.m, I dropped everything last night and headed to Lima Lounge for dinner and hunting with friends  ;-)

I have been always enjoying Lima, but certainly last night was the best. Literally, everyone had returned from an overseas trip, me included. So, it was like reunion Persian party…Awesome crowd, like always, Awesome ambience, Awesome music, and Awesome Wine! Later on the night, things went a little bit out of control. Everyone was drunk!!!

W Hotel Invasion by awesomize.me members Last Night

I headed to W Rooftop Hotel last night to hang out with a few friends. As I always, I ordered my red wine and started cruising aroun to check out the place and the people.

The place is just Awesome! What’s even more awesome is the view. From the 11th-floor balcony at 15th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, you can see  Washington is spread out right in front of you. You will also be able to see all the monuments – the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, the White House’s East Wing which is only a block away, and more.  You can also watch planes taking off from Reagan National Airport or see the Pentagon, Arlington National Cemetery and Old Town Alexandria. It’s just beautiful! Read more of this post

The Founder of AwesomeDC when NOT Blogging

A few good friends from my hometown, Shiraz Iran,  caught me with their iPhone on Friday night when totally wasted at Lima lounge AGAIN. Good thing, it didn’t turn out to be that bad. So, curious what I do when off the computer and not blogging?  Here it is :-)

BTW, I don’t usually behave like this. I was just a little bit wasted having a good time with friends, and also a little bit over excited from the movie Scarface I had just watched before heading out: Read more of this post

HEIDNSEEK Saturdays at Red Maples

Next time you head to Baltimore for the weekend, you may want to check out Red Maple. Every Saturday, the local event promoter, HEIDNSEEK hosts an awesome lively Dance party there.

I used to go there during my college days, but haven’t been there since I moved to DC three years ago.

If you’re into an upbeat scene with good tapas type dishes, Red Maple is your spot.

The place is a trend setting hot spot, with deeply sexy California good looks and feel-happy music spun by cocksure DJs.

As far as the food goes, its decent. They have a lot of unique dishes and all of them are very well prepared. The atmosphere, like i said, is upbeat, even during earlier dinner they have loud music playing so if that isn’t your thing, steer clear. The late night scene is Euro-Club-esc. Big bass DJs playing trance and house own the night here. Give it a shot. Read more of this post

Love and Park Nightclubs File For Bankruptcy

The two nightclubs filed Chapter 11 petitions last week to ward off their creditors and ensure the pending sale of Love, a four-story mega club, goes off without a hitch.

Frankly, I am surprised they last this long. They were both my least favorite clubs in DC. I tried both of them only once and that was my last. Although, four-story mega type of clubs sound exciting and has had a great success in other cities and States, but the model doesn’t work for Washingtonians. Most Washingtonian are two sophisticated to go clubbing in places that looks like junk yard. I would say Ibiza is next to file for chapter 11. Read more of this post

Live Flamenco right from Dupont Circle

How many of you know about the awesome Latin place called Cafe Citron right below Dupont Circle? They also do Flamenco dance every Saturday and I think Mondays at 7:30.

Sometimes, the performance reminds me of my days in Spain. Lots of talent..Flamenco guitarist, traditional Spanish dancer and guests attend the event. So, if you are a Washingtonian or Visiting DC, you got to check out this place during their Flamenco dance event. It is a fantastic experience.

Cafe Citron is one of my small bar/restaurants in Dupont.  I’ve been to Cafe Citron many times in the past few years. They let guys and girls right in all you have to do is flash your ID.  There are three levels to this place all of which have a bar and dancing. When you  first walk in, there is always a live band banging on bongo drums and kicking a beat. Booth tables span the length of the room to the right and the bar spans to the left. In the back of the main floor is a dance floor, doors to the kitchen and stairs to the top level. When you first enter the club, there are stairs that lead directly down to the lower level where the bathrooms are and most of the dancing action. Read more of this post
