The three Musketeers of the Daily Show

My vote for the best of  The Daily show went to their Thursday night program again when Jon Stewart invited his old buddies, Adam Sandler and Chris Rock to his show for their recent movie “Grown Ups“.

I think the show was more of a tribute by Rock and Sandler to Jon Stewart, for being an old friend and actually getting some real new out there.

I just wish Jon had given more attention to Chris Rock. I think he gave most of the attention to Adam Sandler. I was really looking forward to hear more stories from Chris Rock. Oh well, I think Jon was just too excited. Read more of this post

Stewart on Hypocrite Joe Barton over BP

Our  vote for the best of The Daily show this week went to their Thursday night segment when Jon Stewart called out GOP Congressman Joe Barton for apologizing BP and then called him a“Disdainful Asshole”. Despite having apologized for the bizarre comments, the incident was too ridiculous to not be mocked. And it was. Fantastically.

It amazes me that Republican Joe Barton actually apologized British Petroleum saying that President Obama is shaking them down for 20 billion dollars. I say good for Obama. That’s what he’s supposed to do. What do the Republicans expect – that the taxpayers should bail out big oil? I don’t think so! On one hand they are calling on Obama to do more and then they complain when he does more. They hate big government unless big government is bailing out big banks and big oil. Read more of this post

Stewart On BP Developments: “We Are So F–ked”

Our vote for the best of The Daily show went to their Thursday night segment when  Jon Stewart assessed the ongoing oil spill disaster and the new developments that have occurred. His conclusion: “We are so f–ked.”

I am just waiting for the Evangelicals to call this spill part of God’s plan and start a program to aid BP just like Jesus would do if he were alive today. Mark my words, this will be coming soon to a Fox affiliate near your. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John my words. Read more of this post

Jon Stewart On Race

Jon Stewart was off last week. My vote to the best of The Daily show went to one of his older shows when he took on the race in America.

I was laughing my ass off listening to the white woman near to end of the clip, but it’s also tragic. The number of people with limited or no brain activity out there is both staggering and embarrassing.

During this past year (or face it, since Obama was elected), I find that those who continually profess themselves to be great Americans are usually anything but. It’s right up there with people who claim to be religious or moral. If you display these qualities genuinely, you don’t have to try to convince anyone else or remind them on a regular basis. Jon Stewart on Gulf Cleanup Efforts

by Elias Shams
My vote for the best of The Daily show this week was to his program on Thursday night when Jon Stewart tore into the most recent attempts to clean up the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.

“Our solution to this is to come up with ANAGRAMS??” Stewart says when he finally comes to. “‘Oh, we got our best guy on it– his name is PAT THO. He’s developing a PATH TO the cleanup using OAT PHT.” Read more of this post

From Alexander the Greek all the way to Roland the CNN

by Elias Shams
Jon Stewart must be on overload lately with all the prime political stupidity roaming around en-masse. Our vote for the best of The Daily show goes to his show on Thursday night when he covered the world from Alexander the Great, the Greek to Roland Martin, the CNN. It was HILARIOUS like always!

Stewart had his hands full during his opening segment. Moronic “wannabombers,” Greece’s economic downfall, George Reker’s rentboy romp, and BP’s attempt to cap the oil spill were all covered and mocked mercilessly – and hilariously.

Speaking of Greece, I really feel sorry for the Greek people. They are in desperate need for another King Leonidas.

Perhaps, Leonidas should have just let the Persian Kings, Xerxes to take over the Greece :-) This way, their nation would have been part of the Persian Empire today leaving off the oil money from the Persian Gulf and there would have been no East vs West thing today :-) We would be all one :-) see more…

Jon Stewart on Apple Mafia

by Elias Shams
Once again, Jon Stewart showed why he is the smartest man in the media.

The best of The Daily show this week was the one on Wednesday night in response to the Gizmodo exclusive on the lost iPhone and the ensuing raid on its editor’s home.

Jon addressed Steve Jobs on camera specifically, Stewart feared that the mad genius would “go all Howard Hughes” on us. And of course, no bit on Apple would be complete without an inspired rant against AT&T, who makes their “amazing phone unusable as a phone.” see more…

Jon Stewart Stands Up For South Park

by
Elias Shams
The Best of The Daily show for this week wasn’t FOX bashing :-)   Instead, Jon Stewart came to the aid of his Comedy Central family, defending “South Park” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone for their controversial (and censored) episode in which they portrayed Muhammad. I guess Jon Stewart didn’t get the memo that insane religious idiots have no sense of humor.

The censorship by Comedy Central was meant to protect Parker and Stone, following death threats from radical, NY-based Revolution Muslim which according to Stewart means that while they praise Osama Bin Laden and celebrate 9/11, they have access to our theater district, Jewish delis, and parks. read more…

Rachel Maddow: I Could Kill Osama With A Spoon

by
Elias Shams
Our vote for the Best of The Daily show this week went to their Tuesday night program with Rachel Maddow when she told Jon Stewart that she’s capable of killing Osama Bin Laden with a spoon. They were both hilarious! Frankly, I couldn’t tell which one was the comedian during the show :-)

Maddow told Stewart that McVeigh “saw himself as triumphant” in the Oklahoma City bombings despite his eventual execution. read more…

Pope Opera – Ouch!

by
Kamran Abdi
The best of  The Daily show this week goes to their coverage of the Catholic Church’s sexual abuse scandal and recent responses of Pope Benedict XVI and Vatican to news articles that have revealed the Pope involvement in the harboring of known pedophile-priests.

Jon Stewart mocked the Church’s stubborn refusal to apologize for its actions, saying that even Domino’s Pizza is more contrite than the Church. “If any other organization had done anything close to what the Church is being accused of, they’d be done!” he said in a segment called “Pope Opera.”.

“Look how sorry Domino’s was just for their shitty pizza!” said Stewart. “They had a bad sauce recipe, (and) they’ve been out there nonstop. ‘Oh, we’re so sorry. Here, have some Crazy Bread!’”
