LIVE: President Obama on Google+ Hangout Today at 5:30 PM EST

Yesterday, it was Brad Pitt who finally bowed to Google Hangout, today, it’s the Commander in Chief  turn to bow.  President Obama is participating in the first completely virtual interview from the White House to talk about his State of the Union Address. During the live interview, which will be held through a Google+ Hangout, the President will answer questions submitted by people from across the country. In fact, more than 227,000 people have participated already, submitting over 133,000 questions and casting more than 1.6 million votes on the questions they would like to hear President Obama address. Never Say Never to Social Media! Even Brad Pitt Bowed to Google+

Those of you who still think social media is a about poking, wake up!

Even, Mr. private Brad Pitt finally bowed to power of social media. He just set up his page on Google+. Given his passion for New Orleans, not surprisingly, his first social media post was about his Make It Right venture in New Orleans.

“Making a big announcement later this week about an event in New Orleans in March to raise money to build safe, sustainable homes for disadvantaged families and disabled veterans.

The big announcement released last night is this:
“On March 10 at Hyatt Regency New Orleans, Brad Pitt and Ellen DeGeneres will host “A Night to Make It Right” with special guests Randy Jackson and performances by Rihanna, Sheryl Crow, Seal and local favorite Dr. John and friends. Tired of Google Adsense? Try WordPress WordAds

If you have publicly visible blog with a custom domain name on wordpress.com, you can now make money from online advertising on your blog. The service powered by Federated Media  called WordAds and you can apply for it here.

Before you get too excited, not every wordpress.com blog will be eligible for the program. The selection will be based on your traffic, your user engagement, the nature of your content, and the language.

Although, I think this is a great move by WordPress, but most of their big blogs are already part of other niche Ad networks. How do they plan to get them, it will be exciting to see their execution. That said,  I would say  only small mom & pop blogs will apply for now including us.  Read more of this post
