Washington, DC has jumped from No. 19 to No. 2 in BusinessWeek‘s newly released rankings of the Best Cities for New College Grads.
The list takes into consideration available job openings for recent college graduates in 30 major cities, as well as each city’s average salary, unemployment rate and cost of living. DC ranked below only Houston, with Dallas, Atlanta and Austin rounding out the top five.
@Thanks to government jobs, which are somewhat recession-proof, Washington’s job scene is blossoming almost as nicely as the city’s famous cherry trees in early spring,” the magazine wrote. Richmond ranked No. 25 on the list.
