By now every marketer has realized the role of social media as one of the most important outlets of establishing a brand. Most of us have both personal and business pages on Google+, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, LinkedIn, awesomize.me, and Pinterest, the latest one. Although, they are all great marketing channels, but I think excluding the Washington DC based startup, awesomize.me, the rest are just very passive.
Take a look at these two company pages on awesomize.me below as an example - ita Collection based in NYC maker of luxury handbags and Black & Orange Burgers based in Washington, DC maker of burger obviously.
I finally had the opportunity to try out the newly opened Black & Orange Burgers in 14th St. Although, their burgers come in small sizes, but the promise of getting your dream orgasm is pretty much guaranteed. It took two of their quarter-pounds to give me mine JUST PERFECT!
The restaurant that prides itself on affordability, creativity, and quality of ingredients, makes their seven varieties of quarter-pound and half-pound burgers based on blending of fresh ingredients, simple foods and bold flavors into every burger they make. The beef is cooked to perfection and the meat is moist and tender not runny! They are cooked “pink or no pink. The bun is toasted so lightly, Lettuce, tomato, and onion extremely fresh! They provide tender sweet potato fries with four different flavors of mayos! Just yummy! Read more of this post
As the crappiest Burger joint, fuddruckers closes down, another one blooms. Not that we had shortage of Burger in Washington, D.C., Shake Shack is just about to open right south of Dupont Circle where Fuddruckers used to be.
byElias Shams I don’t usually eat red meat unless I am really hungry. Last night was one of those moments – had a major craving for burger and decided to walk around my area to grab a bite. I discovered a new joint less than a block south of Dupont Circle called Rogue States opened last week. Their burger is Awesome! After having their Curried Away burger, I am seriously re-evaluating my diet. Every single bite was a taste of heaven. I literally got an orgasm as I was finishing my burger. Good thing the place is new, it was Monday night, and wasn’t really crowded. So, not many people heard me.
Given the love President Obama has for burger, I think this place will be his new hang out. Not to mention, it is only several blocks away from his house. Read more…
It is time to cover another awesome Washington landmark. Well, this one is not really a landmark, but a pretty cool lounge with awesome happy hours and wonderful ambiance. The place is Science Club – a pretty cool restaurant, lounge, and bar right at 19 & M St. NW in downtown, DC. Depending on the number of people inside the place, you could also dance, but not really a dance place.
I like the concept of Science Club – a vegetarian lounge, situated in downtown DC to attract office-types, with small plates and music. However, I’m not sure that vision is executed properly there. The “science” aspect of the place is lost. I guess, because I come from a nerdy background and that is the first thing I was expecting to find in the place. I was also little bit disappointed for the lack of a science theme . Their Website has one. The club doesn’t. After spending some serious time on Science Club’s really well-done website, I was super excited for the science theme. It wasn’t carried out in the actual bar. All I noticed was a microscope business card holder. You will not find anything science or geeky related in this place. There is a blackboard in front of the bar where, supposedly, back in the day, a bunch of professors used to scribble the complex formula to score with hot chicks. They’ve long since erased this magical equation, but if you spray the board with lemon juice and place it under an ultra-violet light, the secrets will reveal themselves!
Although the place is only 10 minutes walk from where I live in Dupont Circle, I have been visited the place only six or seven times past three years. Science Club seems to be the current hipster-hang out of choice in Dupont Circle. The atmosphere’s alright, a bit crowded, though; gloomy, even. The service has always been very friendly and nice. Very vegetarian-friendly. They have a fantastic all-vegetarian menu, very reasonably priced. I had the veggie burger and fries with vegan aioli. Yummy! The homemade veggie burger is truly awesome, with perfect French fries. Vegan aioli on the side. Vodka tonic and a good friend to dine with, made for an awesome dinner. No idea how they made the aioli so good, Read more…
Just spotted a new Eat in & Carry out place right north of Dupont Circle called BGR – The Burger Joint. Here is the map to get there.
Considering, there are already Fuddruckers, Five Guys, and Johnny Rockets, in our area, do we really need another red meat place in D.C? Credit to BGR, I personally think their burger is by far better than other ones. Although, I am not a red meat fan, but just felt like to grab a bit there. I can’t even stand Fuddruckers and Five Guys.
Although, BGR claims their burgers are all natural, hormone free, and grain fed beef and served on a fresh toasted buttery brioche bun, they still have many challenges a head of them. Here is the list:
a) Competition in the area
b) Their burger is a little bit expensive
c) There are tons of other restaurants serving much healthier food not only in Dupont Circle, but all over D.C.
d) Considering Washingtonians were recently considered as one of the smartest in the country, I am sure majority of them are smart enough to stay away from another red meaty type of place.
So, I think BGR will have a good ride for the first couple of years or so, but not for long run. Besides, in such bad economy, who wants to pay $13 for a Greek Burger?
I tried to find a video about them on youtube, I did not see any. Instead I found this super hilarious one. Please NOTE that the video has nothing to do with BGR. It is just for your laugh of the day:
Now that you have had your laugh with the video, back to the BGR. Here is their address:
