The most well made with ZERO hype video in Politics ever made! Because of him, another American entrepreneur, that would be me :) ,  is alive today and covered with his pre-existing condition, working hard to start a new company and to create jobs. So, thank you Mr. President for your work!  FANTASTICO!

As I have worked hard to get the world to awesomize you, I’ll do my best to get America to awesomize you in Nov 2012. Considering the candidates you will be up against, It doesn’t look like you’ll be needing my help anyway :)  So please, don’t waste a dime on presidential campaign! Venture-Backed Start-Ups Accelerate Hiring

Venture-backed start-ups accelerated their hiring during the first quarter of 2010, according to a new report by the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA).

During the quarter, 13,314 jobs were posted by start-up companies on the website, up 16% since the end of 2009.

According to other studies referenced in the press release, public companies that were once venture-backed currently employ 12.1 million people, and current venture-backed companies employ roughly another half million people. NVCA president Mark Heesen believes startups and entrepreneurship are going to play a large role in the nation’s path toward financial prosperity. read more…

Qiagen to Expand North American HQ in Germantown, Create 90 Jobs

The Dutch based company, Qiagen, a developer of technologies used in bioscience and genomics research plans to expand its North American headquarters in Germantown, adding at least 90 new full-time positions by 2015.

The company is investing $52 million to expand its corporate campus by 117,000 square feet, including both manufacturing and office space. Ground-breaking is expected to take place in the fall, with the project expected to be finished by 2012. read more…

Will America Be Saved By Intel

Just finished reading one of the recent press release by Intel from my morning heaven, Tryst café in the heart of Adams Morgan.  It looks like the day I was on my way back from London to DC, Intel chief executive Paul Otellini was in our town unveiling their latest initiative called the Invest in America Alliance.

Intel will join forces with two dozen venture capitalist firms to invest 3.5 billion dollars in innovative US businesses including wireless infrastructure over the next two years and secured pledges from 17 tech companies to get bright college graduates into technology jobs. Create Five Jobs In America and Get A Green Card From Uncle Sam

A bill called the StartUp Visa Act was introduced yesterday in the Senate by both Democrats and Republicans that proposes a new type of visa for immigrants who create startups and jobs in the U.S. If passed, I hope the Congress makes sure it does NOT lead to more off-shoring of jobs – Five jobs in US that create 200 jobs in China or India. Not good for the US economy.

The two senators to thank for this bill are Democrat John Kerry busy with the ladies in the photo and the Republican Richard Lugar. I think it is encouraging that both a Democrat and a Republican introducing the bill. Let’s hope it makes it through.
