Stewart announced on an edition of The Daily Show last week that the October 30 political gathering will take place on the east end of Washington DC’s National Mall.
The National Mall is the site where Dr Martin Luther King Jr delivered his famous ‘I Have A Dream’ speech in 1963.
The comedian joked about the historic nature of the location by saying: “As far as we know, no huge iconic event has ever taken place there.”
He continued: “The National Mall is an incredible gathering place for all Americans and in desperate need of upkeep and repair, especially after all of us rally on it.” Read more of this post

Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert will be dueling rallies in Washington D.C. during Oct. 25-28, in an apparent attempt to poke fun at serious tone of political discourse in America and play on Glenn Beck, who hosted a highly-publicized “Restoring Honor” rally in D.C. less than three weeks ago.
byKamran Abdi I watched some documentaries last week on Germany leading into the WWII…amazing parallels between what happened to create that mass delusion that gave rise to Hitler, and the same delusion the Teabagging knucles that Jon Stewart having a blast with in this clip. The same hatred and scapegoating of the “other”, the obsession with race and their imagined superiority. The same need to recapture the glory of the Reich, or “I want my America back”.
by Elias Shams The best of The Daily Show this week was the one on Thursday night. Jon Stewart made it official that Glenn Beck is not a joke anymore and now important and influential. Jon went all-in on with a whopping 15-minute parody of the Fox News host. This was unbelievably funny, and pretty well done. When Stewart took “Arian” from “Libertarian” and asked, “Why an “i” instead of a “y”? Why, indeed?
Frankly, my problem isn’t in that Glenn Beck gets ratings or has followers. It is in the method he uses and how many people that “follow” him don’t realize that his show is opinion posing as information. My comment is based on several people/friends I know who just love this guy and constantly spout things he says.
Jon Stewart had such an awesome fun with Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin, and so DID we In this clip from The Daily Show, Stewart mocked Beck for his journal entries on Palin, and compared the two to ‘The Silence of the Lambs. I found it hilarious to see Glenn Beck did the interview in the shadow of the Statue of Liberty, a gift from Socialist France , a country in “old Europe”.
You won’t miss how Sarah Palin was totally creeped out by Beck’s slavish lackyness! I got the feeling Palin didn’t really know who he was outside of the name recognition, and spent most of the hour staring at Beck’s fresh hair. Palin also looking like she smells something really, really bad.
Here is a classic proof of her stupidity. Could a person be more inept than this on national television? This incredibly stupid moment was not unlike the so-called gotcha moment with Couric when Palin couldn’t name what she reads. Only this gotcha moment came from a so-called “team” member at Fox News!
Anyway, I think this is awesome News for our country and the world. Palin candidacy as the vice president, he took down McCain, and now her contribution to Fox will shut down Fox for good soon
And, here is Bill Maher explained why we should move your money out of a “too big to fail” bank and put it into a local community bank or credit union. According to Maher: “This is not a conservative idea or a liberal idea. It’s not left or right. It’s populism at its best.”
