The Opera Camerata Washington is celebrating its 20th anniversary – the Merry Widow performed by the Opera Camerata. During the course of its existence, this unique orchestra has successfully specialized on revivals of rare operas and operettas.
Therefore it is not surprising that the Opera Camerata of Washington has become a cultural landmark in Washington DC and the rest of the nation. But this is not the only fascinating facet of this orchestra. With remarkable devotion, the orchestra has supported In-School Programs which attempt to educate young children and students on the importance of classical music and its influence on popular culture. The current In-School program is completely funded by patrons of the Opera Camerata under the leadership of Executive Director Michael Reilly and President of the Board of Directors, Randall Roe.
