The Ongoing Blaming Game

The best of The Daily show for this week was their Tuesday night segment when Jon Stewart had some fun at the expense of “Fox & Friends” who much to his delight, apparently watches his show.

Stewart pointed out that blaming a previous administration is nothing new, but often there are limitations as to how long into one’s presidency it can be done. Something that apparently Republicans ignored during Bush administration, as they blamed Clinton over and over again.

Bringing the hypocrisy full circle, Stewart played a clip from “Fox and Friends” from just two weeks ago where they blamed Clinton policies for the oil spills, prompting Stewart to ask, “Do you realize that this sh-t is being broadcast?” Read more of this post

What Do Clear, Google, And President Obama Have In Common?

by
Elias Shams

They all want to get us  on high-speed broadband. One for profit, I shall call it the wireless company, “Clear”. One for believing access to high-speed broadband is a necessity these days and not a luxury anymore, I shall call it “our President”. And,  one for God knows why, I shall call it “Google”. The good News is more corners of the country will have high-speed Internet access, existing connections would become much faster, and we  will be cruising the Web with 100 Mbps :-)

The Federal Communications Commission just delivered its long-awaited National Broadband Plan to Congress yesterday, with the goal of creating a nationwide communications network connecting more than 90% of U.S. households. You can review part of the 376-page plan here and here. They are both in pdf. read more…

The Best Of Jon Stewart And Bill Maher This Week

As I promised last week, here are the best of Jon and Bill this week :-) Both of them picked the subject that is right up our ally here in DC.

Jon Stewart couldn’t resist taking some shots at our sexy White House Budget Director Peter Orszag‘s sex scandal.

As for Bill, I am having a tough time to find his latest online. Not even from his own site. So, for now I just post the ones that I think they are really funny regardless of the date. If you find a way to find his latest, please let me know. Here is one of Bill’s latest about Van Jones, the Obama Adviser who resigned for getting cut saying “Republicans are Asshole”:

Here is one for week ending Jan 3rd, 2010

George Clooney’s Clone Right Here In Washington, DC – Made In India Though

Last month, The Indian George Clooney, (reference to our Federal CTO, Aneesh Chopra) announced the launch of Open Government Directive. It was a landmark moment for the Government 2.0 movement.

Classic Jon Stewart from one of my favorite program, The Daily Show cut a few gigglish moments as Aneesh was gearing up to discuss his project. Not sure what his giggles were all about. I just hope nothing kinky was happening under the table between him and our Federal CIO, Vivek sitting right next to him. Jon came up with a hilarious coverage of the story. In case you missed it, here it is :-)

Shortly after, the Indian George, reacted to being mentioned on tThe Daily Show. In response to the criticism, he responded this:
