Will the Digital Books kill the Physical Books for good?

Google recently counted what they consider to be every single book in the world, amounting to a staggering total of 129,864,880. With the new study Newsweek conducted shown below, I wonder how long it will take the iPads and Kindles of the world to completely kill the physical books for good. Not to mention there is an army of more tablets are on the way. Read more of this post

Heat is on the Netbook more and more

Looks like Tablet will outsell Netbooks in a few years which confirms our previous coverage on their heating battle.

The Tablet Effect on TV Consumption

by
Elias Shams
The more I have been learning about iPad and other tablets, the more I am convinced the  800,000 households I reported lasted week who ditched their TV for web or other consumer electronic devices, is just the tip of the iceberg.  Will all these new devices change the way people watch TV?

While the number 800,000 may sound significant, it isn’t as huge as it initially seems, considering the cable, satellite, telco TV industry is a whopping $84 billion affair.

Based on various sources I have been following, the number is on the rise, with about 17% of total weekly online TV viewers watching at least one or two episodes of a full-length show online, up from 12% last year and predicted to grow to 21% next year. read more…

Is TV About To Be Gone with the Web?

by
Elias Shams
If not gone,  they will have at least web connectivity in a few years.

An estimated 800,000 U.S. households ditched their cable, satellite or telco TV subscription services for online options such as Hulu, Netflix, broadcaster Websites, or Apple’s iTunes last year. The number could double to 1.6 million by the end of 2011, according to a new study by Convergence Consulting Group.

I can totally see how this number will be jacking up as more and more viewing options become available online – things like hulu or tablets. Not to mention our experience of dealing with less advertising watching movies or TV shows online compare to TV. I wonder how long that lasts. read more…
