Sponto Gearing up to Awesomize Colleges starting with the ones around Awesome DC

Sponto is a mobile party detection app for college students built by one of the coolest DC entrepreneur, Jamey Harvey who I know since Web 1.0 era. Up until last week Sponto was only available to students at the University of Maryland where it’s been burning up the campus.

I wish they were around when I was going to college, because essentially what it does is tell you where all the free food, booze and hot babes (hot dudes like me in your case ladies ;-) ) are near you!

Their app has enabled The GWU (my Alma Mater) as well as American University, Georgetown, Howard, Catholic, UDC, Catholic, Trinity, Gallaudet and the Corcoran School of Art.  If you’re a student at one of these schools you can register for Sponto now and start sharing parties and events. The Truth Behind Washington D.C. Attraction Revealed


Within the first month after I got off the boat from Shiraz to Washington, DC in 1985, I could tell something was very different about DC.  No, it wasn’t the politics, nor the museums, nor the awesome sceneries of Washington, DC. Something else  made me  fall in love with the city and settle here for good – the insane ratio of women to men in DC.  I have been always wondered about the reason behind it  for the past 25 years. MAVA Names Later-Stage Presenters for Capital Connection

Today, the Mid-Atlantic Venture Association MAVA (Mid-Atlantic Venture Association) added 11 later-stage companies to its lineup of presenters at next week’s Capital Connection conference.

The companies will join 40 early stage firms already announced to showcase their technologies and operations at the event, scheduled for May 19-20 in Baltimore.
