byElias Shams The ROM images of a near-final version of Windows Phone 7 were leaked last week. I forgot to put them online. They are the unlocked version of the April CTP.
The major changes from the previous version, 6.1, are multi-touch gestures (including flicking, swiping and drawing on the screen), motion gestures (shaking the phone), Windows Vista-like redesign of the entire UI, better finger-based navigation and a desktop-like Internet Explorer browser.
byElias Shams Not sure how many of you made it to the 2010 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last month. In case you missed the show, here is the summary.
I had a chance to meet with many companies there and learned more about their new tech gadgets during my three days trip. In fact, I covered such prediction a few times on my blog. I guess we should thank Apple, Google, and RIM for the launch of their iPhone, Android, Nexus One, BlackBerry, and now iPad which has significantly contributed the path to such direction.
The rise of Cloud Computing in conjunction with widget-style applications developed for the mobile phone platform have contributed to faster adaptation of doing many tasks via our smartphones. I also think the testosterone war between Apple and Adobe over HTML5 vs Adobe’s Flash that began since the launch of iPad last month will be a factor in such transformation. Read more…
