Taste of Eastern Europe via Adams Morgan

Next time visiting Adams Morgan, you got to check out the new hot place called, Slaviya. I’ve already been there twice and both times, it was a blast.

The joint is a bar, lounge, restaurant, and could be a night club. Their food, the ambiance, and music are awesome! Their menu is a nice fusion of various Southern Eastern European cuisines, with a few exotic dishes that the chef probably invented himself.

They offer selection of spicy, grilled Slavic sausages and meats, plus Balkan fare like vegetable spreads, schnitzel and interesting regional specialties. Definitely, try their Chicken Trakiya, chevapi and the pork chop. Very authentic taste and filling.

The modern big-windowed setting features high-tops and banquettes, plus a large centerpiece bar pouring plenty of vodka πŸ™‚

My first time there was last Sunday afternoon with a few friends for coffee and dessert.

I am usually a quickie kind of guy. Not the kind of quickie you are thinking πŸ™‚ I meant the kinds going to a restaurant, eat quickly and get out quickly kind of guy. However, the ambiance, the relaxing background music, and their taste of coffee kept me there prisoner for at least an hour and half.

They will be hosting regular parties with their own DJ, and also bring singers from various Eastern European countries to make the shows even more authentic. Here are the pics from their first party last weekend.

All in all, a great place!
