Get smart on Smartphones, Verizon Wireless is Hiring

More and more tangible  results from the rise of smartphones coming out. Verizon Wireless is hiring 200 customer care and technical support representatives at their Henrietta, N.Y., call center to handle local and  customer service inquiries for their smartphones.

As the demand for their Droid smartphones as well as smartphones by other vendors/service providers growing – particularly in Washington, D.C. area, I have no doubt we will see more of such announcement in our region pretty soon.

Also, as customer service gets increasingly technical with smartphone adoption, a number of companies are selling products and services to try to aid consumers with one phone call, instead of passing the calls up to more experienced reps. A report from  InnoPath Software earlier this year said smartphone support costs four times that of feature-phone support. So, if you want these jobs, you better get smart on smartphone SOON!

Verizon Wireless said it offers competitive salaries and benefits including health, dental and vision coverage that begin on the first day of employment, a 401(k) program with a 6% company match, an annual bonus program, profit sharing, merit increases, tuition assistance, adoption assistance, an on-site health and wellness facility and more.
