Awesome DC becomes a Gold Digger

I am very excited to announce Awesome DC’s  first Gold Digging experience for a local company, Motionsoft who just landed their $5.5 mil investment.

The company was one out of the eight local early/later stage firm whose technology caught my attention at MAVA Capital connection 2010 back in May. Here is my coverage on them.

Motionsoft secured their investment from Edison Venture Fund. The fund will be used for expanding the company  sales, marketing and development activities.

Here is the email I received from their CEO,  Al Noshirvani earlier today 🙂

“Elias

See the Press. Thanks for the press at MAVA. It’s where it all started!!”

So, there!

Motionsoft is provider of software and financial services to membership based businesses. The company already provides membership technology solutions to several big name companies like Equinox, Crunch, Urban Active, Starbucks, Mayo Clinic Duke Fitness Center, and about 100 other Gold’s Gym locations throughout the U.S.

Check out their brochure here.

Hope to see more deals like this for the remaining of this year. As I pointed out in one of my recent articles, we really need to  support innovation and not milking the government in the region.

Congratulation Motionsoft!

  1. whats this all about

  2. @ Suhin – Apparently if you’re into software and or software design, you can still have “a place in the sun”. Everyone else can apparently still go suck an egg.

@ Elias – How about trying to be a little less misleading and a lot more open about posting.

    • Elias Shams says:

Steve, what do you mean? Where did I mislead?

      • @ Elias – Don’t get me wrong, I’m not getting down on you, but the title should have included a reference both particular and indicative to the Investor and Investee.

Such as “Awesome DC becomes a Gold Digger with Motionsoft.”

There are many of us here whom have valid endeavors and ideas, but are not of the software community.

Accolades to Awesome DC and Motionsoft, by the way. Good on you both and a toast to mutual success and rewards.

Stephen – Not sure if you are looking for funding but my venture http://www.peerbackers.com is launching this month – it’s a crowdfunding site to help entrepreneurs get the capital they need (best for micro-funding though – like $25,000 or under). There is no fee to post. You can go to our info site (www.peerbackers.com) to submit to be on our full site when it goes live. Take care.
