NASA Goes Flickr

NASA is putting all their historic image collections on Flickr.Although all of the photographs in these sets have been available to the public via since 2008,NASA on The Commons allows the photographs to be tagged, annotated and given keywords. It also widens the opportunities to share and embed these photographs, ultimately increasing overall awareness of the NASA archives.

The photos are exciting and this means that we’ll all be able to use these images in web apps and mashups that use creative commons-licensed images like those for.

Greetings from Colorado! I’m bored to death at work so I decided to browse your blog on my iphone during lunch break. I enjoy the info you present here and can’t wait to take a look when I get home. I’m surprised at how fast your blog loaded on my phone .. I’m not even using WIFI, just 3G .. Anyhow, great blog!
