Next time you are in Dupont Circle area, you got to visit this new coffee shop I recently discovered only a few blocks from where I live. It just doesn’t look like a typical coffee shop from outside, but wait till you check out the inside.
The splendid little coffee shop called Filter Coffeehouse & Espresso Bar in 20th st between R & S street less than three blocks north of Dupont Circle. The joint located in what appears to be a former townhouse. Just look extra hard and you’ll see it. Your reward for your diligence? An awesome cup of coffee, espresso, and cappuccino.
If you want a awesome coffee — not that burnt stuff from Starbucks — then you’ve got to try this place. The coffee and espresso drinks are made perfectly. Great foam density and never burnt coffee! Just a genuinely great-tasting cup of caffeine goodness! But what impressed me even more was that they make “Flat Whites” and good ones at that. I’ve only ever had Flat Whites in Alicante, Spain. Somewhat similar to a capuccino, the Flat White is just yummy. So, frankly I’m sold on this place for that alone! I also like the look and feel of this place and the fact that they serve fair-trade coffee. Very urban, trendy feel, but also laidback and friendly. Here are some photo I took in and out of the place. VERY CUTE!
In addition to having one of the most excellent coffee in town, the staff is both incredibly knowledgeable, exceptionally friendly, professional, and welcoming. Exactly what DC needs. I noticed they took extra time and attention to help a 70+ years old couple to come up with the right mix of beans that would work for them.
Before I forget, although, everyone was on the internet, their Wi-Fi, was pretty fast.
