Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert to Restore Sanity in Washington, D.C.

Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert will be dueling rallies in Washington D.C. during Oct. 25-28, in an apparent attempt to poke fun at serious tone of political discourse in America and play on Glenn Beck, who hosted a highly-publicized “Restoring Honor” rally in D.C. less than three weeks ago.

The Daily Show,” Stewart will be hosting the “Rally to Restore Sanity” on Oct. 30 on the National Mall. He said the goal was to “take it down a notch for America.”

Stewart will also be out promoting his new book, Earth (The Book), for which he’ll even appear once again on The O’Reilly Factor, on Sept. 22.

Colbert will  hold a counter rally on the same day as Stewart’s called “March to Keep Fear Alive.”

The event’s website reads “America, the Greatest Country God ever gave Man, was built on three bedrock principles: Freedom. Liberty. And Fear — that someone might take our Freedom and Liberty.”
