The Awesome Taste of Italy at Vapiano Washington DC

As part of the Vapiano’s social media campaign, I invited a bunch of fans and friends to their location in 18&M in  DC last night.  The gang included me, the most good looking one, Farshid Sepassi, Amanda Tahmasebzadeh, Glenn Albert, and Omar Malick.

me 🙂

This was my 3rd time trying out Vapiano. The joint never disappoints me. The atmosphere, the décor, is pretty unique and lively, shared tables in the casual but Euro environment. The food is just perfect! We had their awesome Chicken Pesto and Toscana Pizza.

Those of you haven’t been there before; the place is an interesting take on cafeteria style. When you walk into Vapiano, they give you a plastic card that is swiped every time you order something, and you pay on the way out. It feels a little bit like a university dining hall with nicer furnishings, better lighting, and alcohol. This is great if you are coming with a big group, because it eliminates the headache of splitting a bill, and gives people more freedom to come and go as they please.

Everyone who works there is very friendly and the service is great.  Sometimes there’s a long line, but I don’t really mind–it’s the kind of place you should go with a group anyway.  I wouldn’t recommend it for a date or a solo outing.

As you can tell from the photos I took, the place has a very huge space, crowded, high turn-over, and no servers!  It’s a lot of fun, casual, dining experience, definitely good for happy hour and a hearty bite after work.

Here is me with one of their manager, Richard:

You can learn about their campaign here. I urge you to participate. You might end up being the lucky winner 🙂

I have to admit the place was very nice and although it waa packed it was so big that you didnt feel cramped. The food was amazing too, I had Toscana Pizza. I was thinking the pizza was small enough for one person but it was big enough for two to share.

Overall the atmosphere, the food and the people working there was great and I had a good time, I’m sure will be going back again. Since I live in Reston, I’m lucky they are opening one across from me at the RTC!
