All aboard! Social Media Train Gearing up to Awesomize your Business in 2011

As more and more studies on social media are released, the more I am getting excited about our new venture, that we launched last month from the heart of the Awesome Washington, D.C. 🙂

The recent study by eMarketer’s predicts that 80% of the businesses will adopt social media for their marketing purposes in 2011. The global surveys indicates that over 30 percent of those businesses don’t even have a social media policy. The report also says marketers that have spent the past few years ramping up their internal social media marketing infrastructure—and their presence on sites such as Facebook and Twitter —will take social media to new heights in 2011. Right on!

The forecast was based on a dozen of third party surveys accompanied by independent studies on social media trends like consumer usage and companies’ social media involvement.

These are along the lines of what we have been noticing on  Since our beta launch last month, we now have over 150 small, medium, and large size companies including telecom companies, Hotels, restaurants, Universities, Spas utilizing our site as part of their social media strategy – major players like HP, Huffington Post, The Latham Hotel in Georgetown, The wireless company, ascom in Reston, VA, Western Governors University, and more.

We look forward to seeing some of the pioneer companies of social media on our site soon – Ford, Dell, Starbucks, and Jet Blue. 2011 will be the year these companies take a serious look at integrating social media, not only regionally but globally. Don’t be surprised if the same companies that piloted programs such as Ford’s “Fiesta Movement” and Starbuck’s Foursquare programs also become the first companies to take on the huge challenge of integrating social media into all facets of business from global marketing to crisis management and beyond.

Here are a few sample page of our enterprise solution called awesome companies -a free service to let any business owner from anywhere in the world to create a page for their companies with links back to their website as well as all their social media channels pages including Facebook fanpage:

We will be launching awesome services and awesome products of our enterprise solution by the middle of next month which will be the complimentary to awesome companies we are currently offering to the businesses. The two new features will separate the service providers from the manufacturers.

Similar to the user profile page, there are two ranking systems integrated for awesome companies page – one for people to awesomize the companies in general and one to awesomize their customer support services. This will allow users to rate the companies. Those with the highest and best ranking will automatically be pushed to the homepage based on their geographical location – i.e. the default page is set for the user in New York City to rate and see only the local companies in New York City not those in New Delhi and vice versa. There is an option for everyone to go beyond their local region though.

If you decide to follow the companies, you may simply click on any of their social media channels in the gray box on top of the page. You may also contact them directly from the page. Here is the more about our awesome companies feature I blogged about last week.

Are you on board yet? The train is leaving! you better hurry up!
