Why Your Business Can’t Afford Ignoring Google+ and awesomize.me

I have been on Google+ since their launch earlier this year. Although, I love it more than facebook, but I rarely see any of my facebook friends using it. I would say out of 460 of my facebook friends, only five of them including myself using Google+.

Well, their recent TV commercial during Lions vs. Packers football game on Thanksgiving day poised to attract my remaining 455 friends so as other remaining 750 m people  on facebook.

Clearly, Google+ is trying to differentiate themselves from facebook by showing that you can organize your friends, family, acquaintances and colleagues into different Circles, and meeting them in Hangouts.

I know! many of you gurus are probably saying facebook has the same thing by allowing us to categorize our contacts under different groups. And, you are right! So, which one you would spend most of your time on in one year from today? Too early to say. All I can say, the more social networking sites popping out… the more confusion… the higher demand for a social media aggregator like awesomize.me to help us to distinguish our quality vs  quantity fans, friends, and followers.

Not to mention Groupon just announced their social network pilot to compete against Living Social which means Living Social will have to come up with their own version of social network platform soon.

Anyway, those of you using the social media channels to promoteand market your brand, you can’t afford ignoring Google+, because:

a)       They are poised to do a much better job for businesses than facebook and other channels like LinkedIn and Twitter.

b)       Google+ social layer of  SEO. Ability to +1ing content helps you better understand what visitors are actually looking for.  An awesome tool.

c)       Considering the high adoption of video conferencing, Google+ Hangouts enable you to have a video chat as well as providing your business a free video conferencing solution. That said, just imagine the live events and seminars you can push out to your potential clients that can’t physically attend.

Once, you have a page on Google+, make sure:

a) To add its URL to your awesomize.me page
b) To complete your profile 100%
c) Participate in the awesome Q&A feature
d) And, do your best to jack up your score  on the site

The higher your score, the more your awesomize.me page will show up higher on any search engine result. i.e. Do a google search for Josh Sippola who is the social media strategist for CenturyLink. His awesomize.me page is listed on top a head of his Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter page.

Give it a try,  and let us know what you think.
