Black & Orange Poised to Prove That Size Doesn’t Matter

I finally had the opportunity to try out the newly opened Black & Orange Burgers in 14th St. Although, their burgers come in small sizes, but the promise of getting your dream orgasm is pretty much guaranteed. It took two of their quarter-pounds to give me mine 😉 JUST PERFECT!

The restaurant that prides itself on affordability, creativity, and quality of ingredients, makes their seven varieties of quarter-pound and half-pound burgers based on blending of fresh ingredients, simple foods and bold flavors into every burger they make. The beef is cooked to perfection and the meat is moist and tender not runny! They are cooked “pink or no pink. The bun is toasted so lightly, Lettuce, tomato, and onion extremely fresh! They provide tender sweet potato fries with four different flavors of mayos! Just yummy! Read more of this post

Simplemente DELICIOSO! Made in Alicante, Spain

I learned this new snack in Alicante, Spain. I encourage everyone to try it out at home. It’s pretty easy, and healthy.

Organic smoked salmon with Organic Italian Feta and and fresh mint with little bit of lemon on top! All on a slice of sunflowered whole grain organic bread. I don’t think such a snack is part of the typical Spanish cuisine, but I noticed many of my friends there making it at their home. The mix of lemon, bread, feta, and mint part of it is certainly from Shiraz, Iran where I am originally from. It can also be Greek. So, where ever it is originally from, it’s just FANTASTICO!  Read more of this post

Wanna Make Love To The Tea or Drink It? How About both?

You have to stop by this new cute little tea shop just opened in Dupont Circle – The Capital Teas.  It’s a fantastic little joint right north of  Q Street & Connecticut Avenue.  They carry a very good selection of loose-leaf teas and accessories like tea sets, tea pots, car cups, and French presses.

We were passing by their store and saw several people in there trying out their teas like the wine tasting experience. They had about 3 pots brewed for you to sample but you can walk around and smell each individual tea as well.  The intensity of the flavors and smells is unbelievable and it will be hard to decide since they all smell very good.  The blends tend to be a basic tea base with additional flavors like dried fruits and spices rather than just an exotic tea.  Most are a black tea base but they have a lot of white and green tea as well. Most Awesome Restaurants in Washington D.C.

Washington, DC restaurants are fast catching up with their counterparts in cities like Los Angeles and New York. In recent years, Washington has played host to James Beard award winners, a season of Top Chef, Michelin stars galore and of course, the most powerful diners in the world, President and First Lady Obama.

Because everyone seems to enjoy something different, the following Top 10 Washington D.C. restaurant list focuses on variety, offering a little something for everyone.

1789

Long regarded as one of the most romantic and traditional restaurants in DC, it’s one of the few in the country that still requires that gentlemen don a blazer for dinner (don’t worry, they’ll loan you one if necessary). Located just outside the gates of Georgetown University, this romantic haven has played host to countless proposals, special occasion dinners and anniversaries alike. Order the lamb, the restaurant’s most well-known dish. Read more of this post

Cuba Libre’s Old World Service Shines

Walking into Washington’s Cuba Libre, expectations were high for this small chain restaurant. The open-air courtyard, while a bit Disneyesque, creates a real dining experience, successfully transporting guests to another time and place. Balconies and stucco facades, tropical plants and colors and Latino sounds will likely create a welcome respite in the dead of a Washington winter.

At Guillermo Pernot’s Cuba Libre, the service is what shines—welcome to Old World hospitality that hits the right note from start to finish. The dining room is highly organized and there isn’t a moment when the staff has a blasé attitude about serving customers. The management has truly created an experience where guests feel welcome.. I couldn’t help but wonder why every restaurant is not managed like this: seriously with precision. I had almost forgotten what great service was like, long before the days of celebrity chefs and haughty servers who begrudgingly serve your meal with an extra helping of condescension. Let’s hope they keep it up. Read more of this post

Research Reveals the Secrets Behind my Good Mood and Look

According to research from Iran’s Roozbeh Psychiatric Hospital at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, saffron, the reddish-gold strands—dried stigmas of Crocus sativus—may have a role in relieving symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and depression.

Shahin Akhondzadeh, Ph.D., and his colleagues gave 50 women with PMS two (15 mg) saffron capsules or placebo capsules daily over two menstrual cycles, keeping track of their symptoms in diaries. By the end of the study, over three-quarters of the women who had taken the equivalent of a micropinch of saffron reported that their PMS symptoms (such as mood swings and depression) declined by at least half, compared with only 8 percent of women in the placebo group.
